December 23rd, 2012

So, I've heard not too long ago about the December 23rd, 2012, and what's expected on that day. Many of you probably heard about it already, just not me, because I'm the type of person who doesn't really want to hear about "scary" stuff, so I always avoid reading or hearing about it. But this particular thing caught my attention for some reason or another. Maybe just because it's not all that bad. I haven't read too much about it, just watched few little videos on youtube and got me a book about it. It seems really interesting, because when i heard about it, I thought: "What is going to happen this time?", taking into consideration how many times we where supposedly going to face that "doomsday".
For example 1914, when the Watchtower Society predicted that "battle of the Great Day of God Almighty" (Armageddon) would happen in 1914, but it didn't.
A Bible teacher from Australia, Leonard Sale-Harrison, held a series of prophesy conferences across North America in the 1930's. He predicted that the end of the world would happen in 1940 or 1941. It didn't.
Lester Sumrall, in his 1987 book "I Predict 2000 AD" predicted that Jerusalem would be the richest city on Earth, that the Common Market would rule Europe, and that there would be a nuclear war involving Russia and perhaps the U.S. Also, he prophesied that the greatest Christian revival in the history of the church would happen: all during the last 13 years of the 20th century. All of the predictions failed.
But then again, when we take a minute and think, all these predictions had "some" truth. Like 1914, that's when the first world war started, which drastically changed the political, social and economical order of the world. Some new countries were formed while others were destructed.
More than 750000 people died during the war and many others from starvation afterwards. It just caused a disaster in the whole world.
The prophecy about 1941, another world war, the second, that caused another big tragedy in the world, where over 70 millions of lives were taken, making this event the most fatal conflict in human history.
Many people expected 2000 to be the year when the world would end, but nothing really happened. But when we take the prophecy about the nuclear war between Russia and the US, there is little truth to it. After the WWII, the cold war begun, they developed nuclear weapons, which made Russia and the US the leaders of the world in the matter of having the most nuclear arms.
The date of December 23rd, 2012 is a topic that is discussed more and more today. Authors write about it a lot, more and more information you can find on the Internet about it, but I think is just a matter of belief. Let's take all those dates when the end of the world was supposed to happen, and it didn't. Many believe that 2012 would be a new beginning, that if it won't be the end of the world, than a big change would occur in the human civilization. Some predict that the magnetic poles of the earth would reverse, others predict that a huge comet would crash on earth and would destroy all life on planet, others say that the Sun's magnetic field will reverse, and induce a reversal of the Earth's magnetic field, others think that the World War III will happen in 2012 and that time will be called "the golden period".
We can't possibly know if all of these are true, we just have to wait and see, but don't forget all those predictions that never came true....
